UGC NET 2019: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will start the online registration process of UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2019 December examination from next week. All the interested, eligible candidates can apply for UGC NET December 2019 online application process from the official website, the link for which is ntanet.nic.in


UGC NET 2019 registrations: Date


As per the schedule, the UGC NET 2019 registration will begin from September 9 and the last date to apply for the same is October 9, 2019.


About UGC NET:


On behalf of UGC, the National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian universities and colleges.


UGC NET 2019: Exam date


The NTA will conduct the UGC NET December 2019 exams from December 2 to December 6. Further, the NTA UGC NET 2019 admit cards will be available from November 9.




How to apply for UGC NET 2019 registrations:


  • Log on to the official website, ntanet.nic.inOn

  • the homepage, click on 'NTA UGC NET 2019 December registration'

  • Fill in all the required information and pay the fees

  • Upload documents

  • Click on submit.



NTA UGC NET: Eligibility for Assistant Professor


(i) NET/SET/SLET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/Colleges/ Institutions. In this regard, exemption f r o m NET/SET/SLET will be governed by UGC regulations and amendments notified in the Gazette of India from time to time.


(ii) The candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR/ JRF examination prior to 1989 are also exempted from appearing in NET.


(iii) For SET Candidates: The candidates who have cleared the States Eligibility Test (SET) accredited by UGC for Assistant Professor held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from appearing in NET, and are eligible to apply for Assistant Professor anywhere in India. For SET held from 1st June 2002 onwards, the qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor only in the universities/colleges situated in the State from where they have cleared their SET.


UGC NET 2019: Paper pattern


  • The duration of the exam will be for 180 minutes for Paper I and Paper II.

  • There will be no break between Paper I and Paper II.

  • Paper I will comprise of 100 marks having 50 questions.

  • Paper II will comprise of 200 marks having 100 questions.

  • The examination will be conducted in two shifts- the first shift from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and second shift from 2.30 pm to 5.30pm.

  • The examination shall be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) only.

  • Wherever Online examination has been used elsewhere in this booklet, it means CBT.

UGC NET June 2019 Exam: Details


This year, UGC NET 2019 Exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 20th, 21st, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th June 2019 in various subjects for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or only Assistant Professor posts in Indian Universities and Colleges.
