IIT JAM 2020 official notification has been released. This year, the exam will be conducted by IIT Kanpur. IIT JAM is a computer-based exam which is conducted for admission in M.Sc., Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree programs at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. degree programs at IISc.
With the release of notification, the exam conducting authorities has also released the dates of major events of IIT JAM 2020. IIT Kanpur has made certain changes for the academic year 2020-21.
#Latest Changes
New EWS category has been added i.e. now, EWS category candidates can also enroll themselves in one of the IITs. 92 seats have been added for EWS category across 9 IITs. Number of seats offered by each IITs has been changed.
IIT JAM exam centers have been changed for different IIT zones. This year IIT Kanpur.
This year, the exam will be conducted in two sessions for 6 subjects only i.e. (i) Biotechnology (BT) (ii) Chemistry (CY) (iii) Geology (GG) (iv) Mathematics (MA) (v) Mathematical Statistics (MS) and (vi) Physics (PH). Biological Sciences paper has been discontinued.
IIT JAM Application Form will be available from September 5, 2019. Candidates have to register themselves through JOAPS to appear in the exam. The exam will be conducted in online mode only. Candidates can appear in one or two test paper by paying an additional fee for the second paper.

IIT JAM 2020 Application Form
Candidates can check IIT JAM 2020 application form details from below:
Candidates can fill IIT JAM 2020 application form in online mode.
Candidates will be able to fill application from 5th September 2019.
Candidates have to register by providing their name, email, mobile number and password.
The application process will include – Online registration, filling details, uploading of images, application fee payment and printing of application form.
Candidates have to upload signature, photograph and documents like category certificates in the application.
After successful registration, candidate’s user id and password will be sent to the email address provided by the candidate.
The official authority will also provide the correction facility.
The enrollment id will be also sent to the mobile number provided by the candidate.
Students can appear for either one or two test papers.Candidates can check their application status after submission of the application.

IIT JAM 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are advised to check the IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria before filling the application form:
Nationality: Candidates should be Indian or foreign citizen.
Qualification: Candidates must have done Bachelor’s degree from any recognized board or university.
Qualifying marks: Candidates must have obtained minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying exam. For SC/ST/PWD candidates 50% marks must be obtained.
Age Criteria: There will be no age limit to apply this exam.
Appearing: Candidates who are appearing in the last year of their degree programme can also apply provided they have to submit the proof of passing the qualifying examination during document verification.
IIT JAM 2020 Exam Pattern
Candidates can check the IIT JAM exam pattern given below:
Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted in online mode.
Time Duration: The time duration for the exam will be 3 hours.
Total Questions: There will be 60 questions asked in the exam.
Type of Questions: Questions will be in multiple choice and Numerical answer type.
Total Papers: 7 papers will be organized for exam.
Total Marks: The question paper will be of 100 marks.
Negative Marking: In the exam negative marking will be only for section I.

IIT JAM 2020 Syllabus be divided in various topics and chapters from the subjects of biological science, biotechnology, chemistry, mathematics, physics and geology etc.
